Pascual Home Improvement Project: Phase 2

Phase 2 consisted of my dad tearing apart the bathroom to get it ready to put down new tile plus Dad and Ed putting new trim around the baby's room and installing a light fixture. It definitely is a mess around here, but I'm so glad this project is finally under way. Although somewhat scary to see Ed using heavy duty tools for long periods of time, it was fun to see him so proud of himself! He really enjoyed actually learning how to do some new things. I think it made him feel "handy," for a little while anyway.

Dad tearing out the vanity. Woo hoo! So glad to see that ugly thing get hauled out to the trash.

Ed using a saw . . . a little scary.

Ed using a professional grade nail gun . . . VERY scary.
Getting ready for tile!

Pascual Home Improvement Project: Phase 1

It all started back in December . . . we started remodeling our upstairs bathroom. My wonderful parents decided to help us with this, since there was no way that Ed and I could take this on ourselves. Both of us will admit that when it comes to home improvement, we are definitely clueless! In December, my parents came over and helped us paint our tub and take the shower door off. Then, we painstakingly took down all the wallpaper. What a mess! Paste, paste, and more paste everywhere. The paint underneath the paper was pealing like crazy in lots of places too. Here are some of the highlights from what we call phase 1 of the process.

26 Weeks

Our Baby P. is getting bigger! And I can feel him kicking and moving all the time. He's an active baby now! We are working hard to get ready for him lately. The baby's room is emptied out and the upstairs bathroom is being redone. We also have been picking out the room decor and all the things we will need for our little one when he arrives. It has been a lot of fun, but also overwhelming at times. There is still a lot to do! We are hoping the bathroom will be done soon so that we can get some paint on the walls in both rooms.

Ed took me shopping last weekend to pick up some comfy maternity clothes. I have enough clothes for work at this point, but I needed some things to wear around the house that were more comfortable than my non-maternity sweat pants. We found the cutest outfit! I couldn't resist! In the picture below, I'm sitting in the glider/ottoman set that we were able to snag on craig's list for a super great deal. It's in perfect shape!

Christmas 2009

Since Kelly and John were still in St. Louis over Christmas, we had our "Christmas morning" celebration on New Years Day. Here are some highlights:
The boys were excited about their summer sausage! Ed was trying to make his look the biggest in the picture.

Christmas present for Baby Pascual from Grandma and Grandpa.

Andy was most excited about his dust pan. Amazing the things you get excited about when you get your own place!

Mom's homemade apple sauce. Yummy!!!!

My brother and I bought each other the exact same gift! We both love this movie!
